About Us

Two Magical Hours

This program is based on an experienced and appreciative understanding of what five and six year-olds want and need in a learning environment.

They need to socialize, interact with other kids, and gain self-confidence.  They also need to discover and create.  They need to make  stuff and say things.  They need to sing and jump around.  They also need to grasp and master new skills and re-enforce lessons they've already learned.

Curiosity Club activities are challenging, energetic and creative.  We gear everything around a given topic and integrate a variety of disciplines and learning strategies into a fairly structured discovery process.

An Adventurous Approach

For most children, kindergarten is a time when the doors of knowledge open in earnest.  Curiosity Club teachers encourage and challenge students to follow their natural curiosity, discover new pathways and explore these open doors.

We recognize that children learn differently and explore their environment-whether it is an education, play or social environment - at different levels of curiosity and confidence.  We design our curricula to challenge and stimulate students of all learning styles and abilities.

As a result, Curiosity Club kids enter their schools with confidence, a love of learning and a base of knowl

edge that prepares them for their academic journey ahead.

Goal Inspired

Our goal at Curiosity Club is to inspire children to trust their curiosity and nurture confidence so they will comfortably grow in their school environment.

A Curiosity Club experience aims to enrich young students by:

  • nurturing a love for learning
  • challenging curious minds
  • rewarding exploration
  • welcoming inquisitive thoughts
  • encouraging critical thinking
  • supplementing reading, writing and math skills
  • developing observation skills
  • introducing deeper concepts in science, geography & literature

Alumni of Curiosity Club are motivated to become more confident in their social and academic skills and well-equip to succeed in their primary school years.

Having Fun.  Staying Active.

One session it's Dinosaurs; the next might be Outer Space, and then after that we discover Africa.  Topics we will explore include Japan, the Seven Seas and the Rain Forest.  We're also going to look at the earth's environment and get to know a few things about bugs and insects as well as other captivating topics.

By weaving a theme throughout the day's learning goals, education and problem-solving come to life in real-world lessons that support all areas of curriculum.  (Math, science, language arts, children's literature, social studies, geography, creative dramatics, music & art)
Hands-on, Mind-open

Regardless of a child's IQ, successful learning is achieved by opening all the senses.  Curiosity Club believes t
hat hands-on learning engages children minds and inspire their creativity.

Discovery, exploration, and experimentation leads to successful problem-solving, long-term learning and the development of critical thinking skills.

We encourage students by helping them understand that even making mistakes provides a valuable learning experience.

Academically Speaking

We have created a unique curriculum for our kindergartners that is proven to inspire learning.  Because kids have a natural curiosity that we tap into with our theme-driven sessions, they have a great deal of fun while developing the very important core academic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic.  The hands-on learning environment also inspires critical and creative thinking, observation skills and reasoning.  Drama, art and journal writing round out the total learning experience.

The Not-so-typical Day

At Curiosity Club, our 'school' days are anything but typical.  Every day, the Curiosity Club environment is transformed into a new adventure in learning.  As students arrive, they are encouraged to explore, experiment and investigate everything.

The day often begins with an introduction to the theme through bulletin board and poster displays, and bookshelves stocked with fiction, non-fiction, poetry and picture books based on the theme.  The Curiosity Club environment always features hands-on learning, so students can make their way through the discovery table which is loaded with manipulatives, including puzzles, games, objects and items all relating to the day's theme.

Curiosity Club meets once a week for two hours.  Class size is limited because we maintain a 9 to 1 student to teacher ratio.  From this website, you can view our schedules for current class times and locations, download and complete the registration forms or see what the kids are doing now and have done in the past!  You can also contact us at 720-635-1735 with any other questions you may have!
